Job Introduction

We’re looking for a customer-focused and strategically minded professional to join us as our new Independent Audit and Risk Committee Member. This is a great opportunity to help us deliver our Business Strategy, strengthen our approach to assurance, and support our journey to being the UK’s best housing provider.

What you'll be doing

You’ll work closely with other Committee Members to provide effective oversight, challenge and assurance to the Board. You’ll help ensure our decisions support strong governance, manage risk well, reflect customer insight and keep customers and communities at the heart of what we do.

The Committee meets at least four times a year, mostly virtually, with one in-person strategy day.

The stuff that sets you apart

We’re looking for someone with a background in the housing sector and strategic experience in either asset management or housing management. You’ll bring sound judgement, curiosity and the confidence to provide constructive challenge, alongside a strong focus on customer inclusion and customer experience. An understanding of the legal and regulatory environment affecting housing providers would be a real advantage.

If you are passionate about social purpose and eager to make a difference, we encourage you to apply, regardless of your previous experience with Boards and Committees.  Yorkshire Housing is committed to fostering a welcoming and diverse environment for all.

What’s in it for you?

This role offers a time commitment of 1 day per month, with a salary of £5,000 per annum. It’s an opportunity to challenge yourself and make a significant impact.
